Innovation and modernity. José Eugenio Ribera, Civil Engineer (1864-1936). Book presentation

The latest addition to the Juanelo Turriano Collection on the History of Engineering, Inmaculada Aguilar Civera’s Innovación y modernidad. José Eugenio Ribera Ingeniero de Caminos (1864-1936) [Innovation and modernity. José Eugenio Ribera, Civil Engineer (1864-1936)], was presented on 12 June at the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers in Madrid.

The presentation was presided by Miguel Ángel Carrillo, José María Goicolea, Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, Miguel Aguiló and the author.

Inmaculada Aguilar is a Fundación Juanelo Turriano Trustee.

Inmaculada Aguilar’s book Innovación y modernidad. José Eugenio Ribera Ingeniero de Caminos (1864-1936) [Innovation and modernity. José Eugenio Ribera, Civil Engineer (1864-1936)], the latest addition to the Juanelo Turriano Collection on the History of Engineering, is now available from the foundation’s Digital Library.

Medal for Professional Excellence. José María Goicolea
José María Goicolea, Fundación Juanelo Turriano President, and other engineers received the Medal for Professional Excellence from the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers on 5 June last. The institute confers these medal each year in acknowledgement of its members’ professional merits.

Model of Juanelo Turriano’s artifice. Lecture

The lecture on Ángel Moreno Santiago’s new model of Juanelo Turriano’s artifice is now available on YouTube. The presentation of the model took place on 25 June 2022 in the Castilla-La Mancha Library, which is housed in the Alcázar in Toledo.

With a PhD. in engineering from ICAI (Comillas Pontifical University’s School of Engineering), Ángel Moreno is, with Luis Moreno Nieto, co-author of the book Juanelo y su artificio [Juanelo and his artifice] and a member of the Fundación Juanelo Turriano Advisory Committee.

The Fundación Caminos is holding the Ninth Global Forum on Engineering and Public Works on 27 to 28 June at Menéndez Pelayo International University in Santander.
