Region of Murcia Architectural Awards
The names of the winners of the eighteenth edition of the Region of Murcia Architectural Awards were announced on 15 April. These prizes are organised by the regional Department of Internal Development, Public Works and Land Management, the Chartered Institute of Architects of Murcia and Fundación Caja Murcia. Of the 95 submitted, an honourable mention was awarded to the project Rehabilitation and adaptation of a former casting workshop: platform design, museographic project and parts manufacture (Isaac Peral Hall, Naval Museum of Cartagena).

The Royal Academy of Engineering  has announced the 6th edition of its Agustín de Betancourt y Molina and Juan López de Peñalver prizes for young (individual or teams of) researchers and professionals engaging in innovation or singular works or making prominent contributions to any area of Spanish engineering.

The deadline for submitting applications and proposals is 29 May 2015.

The Pacific Ocean, Spanish ‘lake’. A lecture
Engineer Luis Laorden Jiménez will deliver a lecture entitled The Pacific Ocean, Spanish ‘lake’ on the occasion of the release of the second edition of his book Navegantes españoles en el Océano Pacífico [Spanish sailors on the Pacific Ocean], bearer of a “Spanish label” distinction. 
The event will take place at 6:30 PM on 28 April at the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers’ Auditorium, 42 Almagro Street, Madrid, Spain.
