Books, roads and days; the engineers’ travels. University outreach course

A course organised by the Spanish National Distance University (UNED) in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano entitled Libros, caminos y días. El viaje del ingeniero [Books, roads and days; the engineer’s travels] will be held at the UNED’s associate facility in Segovia on 20 to 22 November.

The course, geared to historians, engineers, art and science historians, architects, geographers and anyone interested in the subject, will include a visit to the Royal Glass Factory at La Granja.

Directed by Alicia Cámara (UNED) and Bernardo Revuelta Pol (Fundación Juanelo Turriano), the course carries one ECTS and two elective credits.

Fundación Caminos announces its Rafael Izquierdo Solidarity Prize, awarded to institutions and people for solidarity and social commitment in the fields of civil engineering, transport, water and the environment.

The deadline for submitting candidacies for this yearly award is 15 October 2015.
