Ribbon cut for the exhibition Philip II. Devices and machines

The exhibition entitled Philip II, devices and machines on display at the Royal Mint Museum in Segovia, was officially opened to the public on 18 March. Segovia’s Mayor Clara Luquero, Fundación Juanelo Turriano President Victoriano Muñoz Cava and representatives of CEDEX-CEHOPU (Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation-Centre for Historic Studies on Public Works and Urban Planning) were in attendance.

During the ceremony, Jorge Soler’s family received the Fundación Juanelo Turriano medal awarded to this recently deceased collaborator and friend.

Revista del Ministerio de Fomento. Review

Issue 635 of the Revista del Ministerio de Fomento carried a review of the Juanelo Turriano History of Engineering Collection. Under the title Memoria digital [Digital memory], it commends the foundation for its initiative to enhance the public awareness of the importance of engineering with the online publication of this series of monographs.

Conference series: Dialogues between art and engineering

The Residencia de Estudiantes is organising a conference series in Spanish entitled Dialogues between art and engineering, coordinated by César Lanza.

The first round table, Dos miradas sobre el patrimonio construido [Two perspectives on the built heritage] will be held on 21 April, with Delfín Rodríguez and José A. Martín-Caro as speakers and Miguel Aguiló as moderator.

Attendance is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stone on stone. An exhibition
Stone on stone. An exhibition

The ribbon for an exhibition entitled Stone on stone, 30 years of public intervention in Spanish architectural heritage: 1985-2015 was cut on 31 March at the Ministry of Public Works' headquarters building in Madrid.

Organised by the Directorate General of Architecture, Housing and Land Management in the Ministry’s Zuazo Hall, the showing will be open to the public from 1 April through 31 May 2016.
