The exhibition entitled Janello Torriani, genio del Rinascimento was presented at the Fondazione Bracco, Milan, on 15 June last. The exhibition will open on 10 September at Cremona, where it will be on display through 29 January 2017. The curators, Cristiano Zanetti and Cinzia Galli, describe the showing as the most exhaustive undertaken to date on the ingenious Cremonese inventor.

Cristiano Zanetti’s paper entitled Educación y redes de Juanelo Turriano: historia social de un ingeniero renacentista [Juanelo Turriano’s education and networks: social history of a Renaissance engineer] won the seventh García-Diego International Prize.

ICE, the Institution of Civil Engineers CIRCE (Conservation Information Resource for Civil Engineers) has added a page to its website that allows engineers online access to technical information on the conservation, restoration and extension of the service life of structures.

It presently comprises four sections: extension of the service life of existing structures; heritage and conservation; construction materials; and bridges and aqueducts. Each section guides the user to different sources of information: websites, online books or bibliographic references.

The course entitled Machinery and Engineering in Charles III’s Royal Factories will be delivered on 4 to 6 July 2016 on the occasion of the seventeenth edition of the Intendente Olavide Summer Courses organised by the University of Jaén.

The deadline for registration is 1 July.
