La palabra y la imagen [Words and pictures]. Course adjournment

The university outreach course entitled La palabra y la imagen. Tratados de ingeniería entre los siglos XVI y XVIII [Words and pictures: engineers’ treatises from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries] sponsored by the Spanish National Distance University with the support of Fundación Juanelo Turriano and supervised by Alicia Cámara Muñoz and Bernardo Revuelta Pol drew to an end on 13 November.

The course curriculum was supplemented by a guided tour of the Royal Mint Museum at Segovia.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano will publish digital versions of the lessons.

Intensive course on molinology
Intensive course on molinology

Rede Portuguesa de Moinhos announces an intensive course on molinology to be held on 25 to 27 November at the Solar de Morgadio facility, Santa Comba de Dão, Portugal.

The course will be supplemented with a visit to a mill on Ribeira dos Aldrogãos, which will be operating for the occasion.

The exhibition entitled Leonardo Torres Quevedo: Iguña’s universal inventor, organised by the Alto Besaya Initiative Centre and Leonardo Torres Quevedo Primary School on the occasion of Torres  Quevedo Year, will be open to the public at the school in La Serna de Iguña, Cantabria, Spain, through 22 December 2016.

The showing is sponsored by Amigos de la Cultura Científica and the Technical University of Madrid’s Torres Quevedo Museum, with the support of Google Europa.
