Fundación Juanelo Turriano offers two 14,400 euro grants for PhD. theses.

To qualify, they must deal with the history of science or technology proposals for research on architecture or hydraulic, civil or mechanical engineering will receive particular consideration.

The deadline for submitting applications is 17 September 2018.

On 15 May, Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director Bernardo Revuelta Pol was interviewed on Sin distancias a UNED Radio 3 (Spanish public broadcasting network) programme.

During the interview, hosted by National Distance University (UNED) professor Juan Claver, Bernardo Revuelta highlighted the foundation’s work in conserving the industrial heritage.

Bernardo Revuelta Pol, Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director, will be signing his latest novel, Triángulo [Triangle] at Madrid’s Book Fair, Ediciones Doce Calles (stand 292), on Saturday 26 May from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday 27 May from 5:00 to 9:30 PM.

On 8 May Daniel Crespo Delgado, Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, delivered a lecture at Segovia’s San Quirce Royal Academy of History and Art  entitled Conservation of the Segovia Aqueduct and its “formidable structure”, fifteenth to twentieth centuries. 

The deadline for sending communications to the International Conference on Construction Research Eduardo Torroja AEC 2018 around the theme Architecture, Engineering and Concrete. Where do we come from? Where are we going? is 11 June.

The congress, organised by Fundación Eduardo Torroja, will be held on 21 to 23 November 2018.

Carlos Nárdiz will present his book Entre la arquitectura y la ingeniería. 6+6. [Architecture + engineering. 6+6] at Madrid’s Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers at 7:30 PM on 22 May.

The author, together with Miguel Aguiló, Pepa Casinello and César Lanza, will analyse engineering’s contribution to architecture through the works of six architects and six engineers.
