Fundación Juanelo Turriano is organising the 13th edition of its summer course, to be held from 10 to 13 July at the Madrid School of Civil Engineering.

This year’s course is entitled  La catedral. Ingenium et aedificare [The Cathedral. Ingenium et aedificare].

A seminar entitled Patronage and Cultural Heritage. Private funding in Spain’s World Heritage Cities was held at Tarragona on 11-13 June.

Daniel Crespo Delgado, PhD. in art history and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, participated in a round table on Three examples of funding in World Heritage Cities.

Eduardo de la Morena de la Fuente, beneficiary of the 2016-2017 edition of the Fundación Juanelo Turriano doctoral grant, earned Summa Cum Laude honours for his PhD. thesis entitled El patrimonio histórico de Agustín de Betancourt: análisis de las aportaciones a la ingeniería civil mediante técnicas CAD/CAE [Agustin de Betancourt’s cultural heritage: use of CAD/CAE techniques to analyse contributions to civil engineering].

Supervised by José Ignacio Rojas-Sola, the thesis was defended at the University of Cordoba on 7 June.

For over 10 years, Juanelo Turriano Secondary School students with the best academic records have received a book grant from Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

This year’s prizes were delivered to the winners on 5 June. Federico Martín Bahamontes was awarded the Juanelo Turriano Prize for Professional Ingenuity at the same ceremony.
