In its January 2019 issue (No. 3605), Revista de Obras Públicas carries an extensive article on Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, recently named Honorary Member of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers of Madrid, the institution’s highest distinction.

Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo is a Fundación Juanelo Turriano trustee.

The latest podcast in the Geografía e Historia [Geography and history] series produced by Radio3, a Spanish national radio broadcaster, is now available.

In the programme, entitled Imagen y ciencia en la obra de Leonardo da Vinci [Depiction and science in Leonardo da Vinci’s oeuvre], Alicia Cámara, National Distance University professor and member of the Foundation’s Advisory Commission, pays tribute to Leonardo in the 500th anniversary of his death.

Issue 18/19 of El Nuevo Miliario, bulletin on Roman roads and other subjects relating to historic geography, co-sponsored by the Fundación Juanelo Turriano, has now been released in print.

Beginning with the next issue, the journal will be published on line.

Issue 62 of the Associació de Associació d’Estructures’s (ACE) journal Quaderns d’Estructures, now available on line, includes an article by Roberto Brufau entitled La consolidación de una estructura única: el paraguas de Pola de Siero [Consolidation of a unique structure: the ‘upside-down umbrella’ at Pola de Siero].

Fundación Patrimonio Industrial de Andalucía (FUPIA) is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2019.

The book entitled Vientos de guerra. Apogeo y crisis de la Real Armada, 1750-1823 [Winds of war; the Royal Armada 1750-1823, glory and crisis] was presented on 30 January at Cortes de la Real Isla de León Convention Centre at San Fernando, Cadiz.

Collectively written, it measures and assesses the Royal Armada in three volumes, addressing its development, pinnacle of glory and crisis.
