García-Diego International Prize. 10th edition (2019)
The Fundación Juanelo Turriano announces the 10th edition of its García-Diego International Prize, worth 12000 euros, for research in any of the branches of the history of technology. The prize is open to any individual or group submitting an original, unpublished paper in Spanish.

The deadline for submissions is 20 January 2020.

A new volume in the Lecciones Juanelo Turriano de Historia de la Ingeniería [Juanelo Turriano Lectures on the History of Engineering] collection is now available in our library,

This new book compiles the lectures delivered on the occasion of the course entitled The Cathedral, Ingenium ut aedificare held at the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Civil Engineering (10-13 July 2018) and organised by the school in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano. The course primarily addressed the technical and constructional features of cathedrals, but also their historical, cultural and religious significance, as well as their status as heritage assets and the problems associated with their conservation.

The videos of the international congress on Ceán Bermúdez and the historiography of the plastic arts held on 27 and 28 May at Spain’s national library are now available on line.

Daniel Crespo Delgado, Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, participated in the congress with a paper entitled Justa melancolía. La historiografía artística española durante la ilustración española (Rational melancholy: Spanish art history during the Enlightenment).
