Artifex. Roman engineering in Spain. Opening

The travelling exhibition entitled Artifex. Roman engineering in Spain, organised by Fundación Juanelo Turriano in conjunction with the Centre for Historic Studies on Public Works and Urban Planning (CEHOPU) - Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation (CEDEX), opened on 11 July at Valladolid’s Science Museum.

The exhibition will be open to visitors, cost-free, through 24 November 2019.

Juanelo Turriano Secondary School. Awards ceremony

For over 10 years, Juanelo Turriano Secondary School students with the best academic records have received a book grant from Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

The awards ceremony for this year’s prizes was held on 24 June. Cipriano González was awarded the Juanelo Turriano Prize for Professional Ingenuity at the same event.

The Sixth International Congress on Roman Engineering, organised by the Chartered Institute of Associate Civil Engineers (Spanish initials, CITOPIC), will be held on 7 to 9 November at Santo Domingo de la Calzada in the Spanish province of La Rioja.

This edition of the congress will address a number of major urban waterworks.

The University of Valencia is now accepting candidacies for the Demetrio Ribes Prize, a distinction awarded for excellence in research on the history of land use.
