Arquitectura hidráulica y forma urbana [Waterworks and urban layout]. New publication
A new volume in the Juanelo Turriano Lectures on the History of Engineering collection is now available online from our library. Arquitectura hidráulica y forma urbana  [Waterworks and urban layout] contains the lectures delivered on the occasion of the eponymous university outreach course held in Segovia in 2018.

2019 Turriano-ICOHTEC Prize

The 2019 edition of the Turriano-ICOHTEC Prize for young historians, sponsored by Fundación Juanelo Turriano, was awarded to Dr. Maria Rikitianskaia for her thesis European radiotelegraphy and World War I: a transnational perspective, 1912-1927.

 The awards ceremony was held during the 46th International Committee for the History of Technology (ICOHTEC) Symposium at Katowice, Poland on 22 to 27 July 2019.

 The forthcoming edition will be announced in due time.

 
Forum Public Works as Cultural Heritage: Characterisation, Conservation and Rehabilitation

A forum entitled Public Works as Cultural Heritage: Characterisation, Conservation and Rehabilitation will be held on 21-22 October 2019 at Madrid’s Chartered Institution of Civil Engineers. The forum will afford researchers, professionals, government technicians and heritage managers the opportunity to exchange experience in the identification, protection, restoration and rehabilitation of public works.

Daniel Crespo Delgado, PhD. in art history and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, is a member of the Group of Experts.

Carlos Fernández Casado National Public Works Heritage Prize. Announcement

The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineers and the Fundación Caminos have instituted a bi-yearly award entitled Carlos Fernández Casado National Public Works Heritage Prize.

The deadline for submitting candidacies is 30 September 2019.

The awards ceremony will be held on the occasion of the Public Works as Cultural Heritage Forum.
