Turriano ICOHTEC Prize 2020. Call for submissions

Papers are now being admitted for the Turriano ICOHTEC Prize 2020, organised by the International Committee for the History of Technology (ICOHTEC).

The awardee will receive a 2500 euro prize plus 500 euros for travel expenses and read the paper at the forthcoming ICOHTEC symposium to be held at Eindhoven, from 13 to 18 July 2020.

The deadline for submitting papers is 1 February 2020.

The catalogue-book Cuatro Siglos de ingeniería española en Ultramar. Siglos XVI-XIX [Four centuries, 16th-19th, of Spanish engineering overseas] will be presented on 3 December at 13:00 at the headquarters of the Archivo General de Indias.

The catalogue will be presented by curators and coordinators Spanish Geographic Society national prize winner Ms María Antonia Colomar Albájar, and civil engineer Mr Ignacio Sánchez de Mora y Andrés.

Navafría’s Drop Hammer. Exhibition
The travelling exhibition Navafría’s Drop Hammer will be open to the public at the Navafría Town Hall through 20 December, free of charge. It includes a number of pictures from Jorge Soler Valencia’s collections of drawings and photographs on the industrial heritage, custodied at the Fundación Juanelo Turriano library.
