The showing organised by Fundación Juanelo Turriano in conjunction with the Spanish National Library, Sueño e ingenio. Libros de ingeniería civil: del Renacimiento a las Luces [Dreams and ingenuity, civil engineering books from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment] can now be visited from the virtual exhibition page on the library’s website.

In light of the circumstances attendant upon the covid-19 pandemic, the organising committee for the yearly ICOHTEC congress has decided to video-conference its 47th edition.

The new dates for the event will be 15 to 17 July. The Turriano ICOHTEC prize will be awarded at the Friday 17 July session.

New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art closed its exhibition Making marvels, science and splendour at the Courts of Europe on 1 March.

One of the pieces on display, an automat dressed in a monk’s habit lent by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, is attributed to Juanelo Turriano.
