Grant for PhD. studies. Academic period 2021-2022

Fundación Juanelo Turriano announces the 2021-2022 edition of its yearly 14.400-euro grant for a PhD. thesis.

To qualify, theses must deal with the history of science or engineering: proposals for research on architecture or hydraulic, civil or mechanical engineering will receive particular consideration.

The deadline for submitting applications is 16 September 2021.

Los Ingenios y Máquinas. Ingeniería y Obras Públicas en la época de Felipe II [Devices and machines, engineering and public works in times of Philip II]. Exhibition

Los Ingenios y Máquinas. Ingeniería y Obras Públicas en la época de Felipe II’ [Devices and machines, engineering and public works in times of Philip II] opened at Logroño’s Casa de las Ciencias on 22 April.

This travelling exhibition, organised by CEDEX/CEHOPU, in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano, will be open to the public through 29 August.

The seminar entitled Imagines Aquam Fluminis. Reconstrucciones virtuales de Castilla a Lisboa [Virtual reconstruction from Castile to Lisbon] is  now available on the UNED Channel.

One of the speakers, Complutense University of Madrid professor and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher Daniel Crespo Delgado, delivered a lecture on the 3D animated film rendition of Juanelo Turriano’s artifice at Toledo.

Announcement for the 21st edition of the Young Researcher Awards

The Royal Academy of Engineering is now accepting candidacies for its Agustín Betancourt y Molina and Juan López de Peñalver Awards, co-sponsored by Fundación Pro Rebus Academiae. The deadline for submissions is 31 May.

These awards target researchers and professionals engaged in engineering who were under 40 on 1 January 2021 and have an ongoing relationship with Spain, country accounting for a significant part of their career.
