Juanelo Turriano, clockmaker and mathematician to Emperor Charles V. Video

The programme Juanelo Turriano, clockmaker and mathematician to Emperor Charles V, produced by the National Distance University (UNED) in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano, was shown on Spain’s public broadcasting channel 2 (La 2) on 4 June.

Art History professor Alicia Cámara Muñoz, Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director Bernardo Revuelta Pol and Complutense University of Madrid professor and Fundación researcher Daniel Crespo Delgado participated.

Juanelo Turriano Secondary School
Juanelo Turriano Secondary School held its 2020-2021 graduation ceremony on 25 June, when the students with the highest academic performance were awarded the annual book grants funded by Fundación Juanelo Turriano, in keeping with a tradition instituted over 10 years ago.

The 4º Encontro Luso-Brasileiro de História da Medicina Tropical and 2º Simpósio Nacional de História das Doenças e das Artes de Curar were held as virtual events on 21 to 24 June last.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher and Complutense University of Madrid professor Daniel Crespo Delgado and UNED professor Victoria Soto Caba participated in the session entitled, De paseos y alamedas. Ejemplos de un debate higienista desde la Ilustración Española  [Avenues and boulevards, examples of a hygienist debate during Spanish enlightenment], now available online.

The twelfth edition of the Spanish Symposium on Dams, organised by the Comité Nacional Español de Grandes Presas (SPANCOLD), will be held at the Canary Island Conference Centre (Alfredo Kraus Auditorium) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 27 September to 1 October.
