The Fundación Juanelo Turriano announces the 11th edition of its García-Diego International Prize, worth 12,000 euros, for research in any of the branches of the history of technology.

The prize is open to any individual or group submitting an original, unpublished paper in Spanish.

The deadline for submissions is 20 January 2022.

Alicia Cámara Muñoz participated as main speaker in the 52nd edition of the course organised by the University of Valladolid’s Felipe II Chair on 18 and 19 November.
Her lecture was entitled Grandeur and power. Philip II and his engineers.

Alicia Cámara Muñoz is Head of the History of Art Department at the National Distance University (UNED) and secretary of the Fundación Juanelo Turriano Trust.

Papers for the 49th ICOHTEC Symposium can be submitted through the 30 January 2022 deadline. The event will be held virtually on 17 and 18 June, 24 and 25 September and 15 and 16 October 2022.

Registration is likewise now open through 6 March 2022 for ICOHTEC’s 4th summer school course for PhD. students and recent PhD. graduates.

The Spanish society of the history of science and technology’s (SECHYT) Governing Council has proposed new dates for its 14th Congress: 20 to 22 June 2022.

With that postponement the deadline for submission of further papers or making changes in those submitted has also been pushed back to 1 April 2022.
