Summer course. Registration open

Registration is open for the summer course Engineering: From the Enlightenment to the Industrial Revolution, to be held from 8 to 10 July at the Madrid School of Civil Engineering.

The course will close with a guided tour of the Royal Glass Factory at La Granja de San Ildefonso.

The Fundación Juanelo Turriano Library’s digital collection has added new items that can be seen on line.

This time the items we are making available to our community include old engineering books, technical volumes from the first third of the twentieth century, and a rich collection of speeches, historic correspondence and exhibit catalogues.

Pedro Navascués Prize for PhD theses

Submissions are being accepted for the third Pedro Navascués Prize for PhD theses.

Thesis topics must be confined to the history of engineering. All branches and eras are eligible. Papers relating to the Foundation’s career will receive preference in scoring.

Cities and bridges. Summer course

The summer course Cities and bridges will be held from 16 to 18 July at the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander. Course director Javier León will be joined by Foundation members Inmaculada Aguilar, Darina Martikánová and Daniel Crespo.
