2026 Turriano ICOHTEC Prize

The deadline for submissions for the Turriano ICOHTEC Prize is 15 June. The prize is organised by ICOHTEC-International Committee for the History of Technology.

The winning paper, sponsored by Fundación Juanelo Turriano with a 2500-euro prize, will be presented at the upcoming ICOHTEC symposium, which will be held in Alexandroupolis, Greece, from 8 to 11 October 2026.

On 11 February last, a group of people interested in the history of technology and engineering visited our headquarters. Accompanied by Complutense University of Madrid professor and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher Daniel Crespo, the visitors learned first hand about the research facilities we make available.
Second Congress on Public Works and Civil Engineering Heritage. Registration

Registration to attend the Second Congress on Public Works and Civil Engineering Heritage is open until 3 April. The congress is organised by the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers and other institutions and will be held from 7 to 10 April in Castellón, Valencia and Alicante.

47th Course on the History of Segovia
47th Course on the History of Segovia
The Royal Academy of History and Art of San Quirce is organizing the 47th Course on the History of Segovia, entitled Segovia in Spanish Scientific and Educational Renewal: Relations with the Board for the Extension of Studies, starting on March 6.

The lectures will be held on Fridays in March, April, and part of May (except holidays) at 7:00 p.m. in the San Quirce Lecture Hall (Calle Capuchinos Alta, 4, Segovia), with free admission until capacity is reached.

Puentes de metal [Metal bridges]. Exhibition

The exhibition Puentes de metal [Metal bridges] is open to visitors in the anteroom of the academic offices of the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Civil Engineering until 24 April.

The show invites the public at large to discover how metal bridges have evolved in just over a century through a careful selection of historical treatises, plans and prints from the valuable collection belonging to the School of Civil Engineering’s library.

Admission is free.

The deadline for submitting papers for the Tenth International Railway History Congress organised by the Iberian Railway History Association is open until 30 April. The congress will be held in Alcázar de San Juan on 24 to 26 June 2026.
