The Second Congress on Public Works and Civil Engineering ended on 10 April.

The last day included a tribute to Juanelo Turriano trustee Inmaculada Aguilar Civera in recognition of her work researching and reporting on the history of engineering and public works.

The Sixth International Spanish-American Congress and Fourteenth National Congress on the History of Construction closed on 11 April last in Cartagena.

This important academic encounter organised by the Sociedad Española de Historia de la Construcción (SedHC, Spanish Society of the History of Construction) brought together close to a hundred researchers specialising in the subject.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano contributed to this year’s congress as a collaborator, and its director Bernardo Revuelta Pol attended the opening session.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano would like to remind applicants that the deadline for submissions for the Turriano ICOHTEC Prize is 15 June. The prize is organised by ICOHTEC-International Committee for the History of Technology.

The winning paper, sponsored by Fundación Juanelo Turriano with a 2500-euro prize, will be presented at the upcoming ICOHTEC symposium, which will be held in Alexandroupolis, Greece, from 8 to 11 October 2026.
