OPENING OF THE ARTIFEX EXHIBITION IN GRAN CANARIA

The travelling exhibition “Artifex. Roman engineering in Spain” opened on Thursday, 13 March at the Elder Science and Technology Museum, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where it can be visited through the end of August.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by regional Director General of Tourist Administration and Promotion Rita Enma Hernández Callero, Public Works Studies and Experimentation Centre (Spanish initials, CEDEX) representative Dolores Romero, Museum Director José Francisco Miranda and Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director Bernardo Revuelta.

OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION “ARS MECHANICAE” AT LOGROÑO

The exhibition “Ars Mechanicae, Medieval engineering in Spain” will be open from 7 March through 23 June at Logroño’s Science Museum.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by Councilwoman for Trade, Culture and Tourism of Logroño, Pilar Montes, Public Works Studies and Experimentation Centre (Spanish initials, CEDEX) representative Dolores Romero and Pedro Navascués, exhibition curator and Fundación Juanelo Turriano trustee.

Meritxell Oliach Fàbregas defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “El agua y la protohistoria desde el Ebro hasta Hérault. Sistema de abastecimiento y evacuación (siglos XI-II ane)” [Water and protohistory from the Ebro to Hérault, supply and drainage systems (11th - 2nd centuries BCE)], supervised by Dr Carme Belarte (ICREA-ICAC), on 14 March in the Catalán Institute of Classical Archaeology ( Spanish initials, ICAC) auditorium. She was awarded her PhD. degree with honour (cum laude).
