NAVY CROSS CEREMONY IN HONOUR OF VICTORIANO MUÑOZ CAVA

 

 

Victoriano Muñoz Cava received the Navy Cross on 4 October last. The ceremony was held at the General Staff of the Navy Headquarters in Madrid. Fundación Juanelo Turriano’s President was awarded this distinction in acknowledgement of his contribution to the rehabilitation of the Peral submarine and its relocation in the Cartagena Naval Museum.

FÉLIX CANDELA: MASTERING SLENDERNESS, IN SEGOVIA

 

 

 

The exhibition “Félix Candela: mastering slenderness”, produced by Fundación Juanelo Turriano and the UPM, opened at the Royal Mint Museum on 11 October.

The exhibition will be on display through 6 January 2014.

CONFERENCES COMMEMORATING THE FOUNDATION OF THE CENTRE FOR HYDROGRAPHIC STUDIES (1933-2013)

Ciclo de conferencias conmemorativas de la creación del Centro de Estudios Hidrográficos (1933-2013)

 

This year marks the eightieth anniversary of the foundation of the Centre for Hydrographic Studies. For the occasion, the Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation (CEDEX), with which the Centre for Hydrographic Studies became affiliated in 1960, has organised a commemorative conference series for the months of October and November. The cost-free conferences, which are open to the public, will be held in the Centre for Hydrographic Studies auditorium (Pº Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, Madrid).

 

CEDEX Director Mariano Navas opened the series and subsequently introduced Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, who delivered a conference on the first stage in the history of the Centre for Hydrographic Studies, from its foundation in 1933 to its closure in 1936.

FUNDACIÓN AENA: 17TH SYMPOSIUM ON HISTORICAL STUDIES ON AERONAUTICS

The 17th Symposium on Historical Studies on Aeronautics, whose theme is the fathers of Spanish aeronautics, will be held on 22, 23 and 24 October.

The venue is Zurbano Palace in Madrid. Entry is cost-free and open to the public, limited only to the available seating.
