BOOK ON ROMAN ENGINEERING NOW POSTED IN THE DIGITAL LIBRARY

 

 

The first title in the collection Lecciones Juanelo Turriano de Historia de Ingeniería (Juanelo Turriano lectures on the history of engineering) is now available in the Fundación Juanelo Turriano Digital Library. The book reproduces the conferences delivered in Segovia on the occasion of the 2012 course on Roman engineering entitled “That the greatness of the empire might be attended with distinguished authority in its public buildings”, jointly organised by UNED and Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ICOHTEC PRIZE FOR YOUNG SCHOLARS

 

 

 

ICOHTEC (International Committee for the History of Technology) has announced a new edition of its history of technology prize intended for young researchers.

 

The prize, worth 3 000 euros, is sponsored by the Fundación Juanelo Turriano. The deadline for submitting manuscripts is 7 February 2014. The winner will be announced at the 41st ICOHTEC Symposium, organised around the theme: “Technology in Times of Transition” (Brasov, Romania. 29 July-2 August 2014).

ARTIFEX, ROMAN ENGINEERING AT HUÉRCAL OVERA

 

 

 

The exhibition entitled Artifex, Roman Engineering, produced by Fundación Juanelo Turriano  and CEHOPU-CEDEX (Centre for Historic Studies on Public Works and Urban Planning-Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation), opened at Huércal Overa on 30 October.

 

It will be shown through 23 December 2013.

9TH INTERNATIONAL MOLINOLOGY CONGRESS: NOW OPEN FOR PROPOSALS FOR COMMUNICATIONS

The 9th International Molinology Congress, jointly organised by the Asociación para la Conservación de la Huerta Murciana, “HUERMUR”, and Asociación para la Conservación y Estudio de los Molinos, ACEM, will be held at Murcia on 9-11 May 2014.

 

The abstracts for proposed communications must be received by 24 January 2014. They may be submitted on the form accessed from the link below.
