Enlightenment waterworks. Exhibition
An exhibition on waterworks built during the Enlightenment, organised by Cedex-Cehopu(Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation/Centre for Historic Studies on Public Works and Urban Planning) in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano, opened on 10 July at the Ministry of Internal Development’s Arcades Hall.

The exhibition covers some of the most significant waterworks undertaken during the Spanish Enlightenment, when the country embarked on a programme of unprecedented scope and ambition to modernise its hydraulic facilities.

 The exhibition will be open to the public through 30 October 2014. 
Juanelo Turriano medal
Under an agreement concluded with the Fundación Lázaro GaldianoFundación Juanelo Turriano has minted two series of 25 replicas each of the Juanelo Turriano (Giannello della Torre) medal custodied by the former under inventory No. 1891. The medals will be used for a number of purposes, all non-commercial.

The front face of this sixteenth century bronze medal bears a profile of Juanelo Turriano with the inscription IANELVS. TVRRIAN. CREMON. HOROLOG. ARCHITECT and the reverse the Fountain of Science and the inscription: VIR ---- TVS and in exergue, NVNC: DEFICIT.

The Asociación Arqueología Industrial, Patrimonio Cultural y Natural Máximo Fuertes Acevedo (INCUNA: Máximo Fuertes Acevedo Industrial Archaeology Association, Cultural and Natural Heritage) has published a second circular with the programme of activities for the Sixteenth International Industrial Heritage Conference, to be held at Gijón, Asturias, Spain, on 24 to 27 September.

The deadline for submitting summaries and abstracts is 15 July.
