PhD. grants, 2018-2019

Fundación Juanelo Turriano reminds all concerned that the deadline for applying for its 2018/2019 PhD. grants for theses is 17 September next.

To qualify, theses must deal with the history of science or engineering: proposals for research on architecture or hydraulic, civil or mechanical engineering will receive particular consideration.

The gross yearly sum awarded with each grant is €14 400.

Un encuentro posible. Historia e ingeniería [History and engineering, seeking common grounds]. Lecture

Daniel Crespo Delgado, Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, will deliver a lecture entitled Un encuentro posible. Historia e ingeniería [History and engineering, seeking common grounds] at 7:30 PM on 27 September at Madrid's Residencia de Estudiantes.

Organised with the support of Red INTIC (Red de Innovación y de las Nuevas Tecnologías en la Ingeniería Civil: network for innovation and new technologies in civil engineering), this event is open to the public cost-free.

The exhibition entitled Engineering in Zamora: the future conceived and built but never fulfilled opened at Zamora’s Ramos Carrión theatre on 5 September.

The showing, a tribute to engineer Federico Cantero Villamil (Madrid 1874-1946) organised by professors with the Technical School of Zamora and the engineer’s descendants on the occasion of the University of Salamanca’s Eighth Centenary, will run through 11 October.
